Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of Coach (“Coach,” “we,” “us”). By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What the service is

Coach is an AI-powered writing coach that helps you produce college application materials — essay drafts, activity descriptions, and UC Personal Insight Question responses — from material you provide. It is a drafting and coaching tool. It is not a college counseling firm, it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Regents of the University of California, the Common Application, Inc., or any college or university, and it does not guarantee — and makes no representation about — admission to any institution or any other outcome.

2. Eligibility and minors

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under 18, you may use the service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use, including any purchase.

3. Your content and your responsibility

You own the material you provide and the output you create with the service. You grant us the limited license needed to store and process your material solely to operate the service. You are solely responsible for everything you submit to any college, university, or application platform — including its accuracy and truthfulness, and its compliance with the honesty, originality, and AI-use policies of each institution and platform you apply through. It is your responsibility to know and follow those policies. Review and edit all output before using it.

4. AI output

The service is designed and engineered to work only from material you provide. However, AI systems are probabilistic, and we do not warrant that output will be free of errors, omissions, or inaccuracies — including facts, details, numbers, names, or events that do not match, or are not present in, the material you provided. Descriptions of how the service is engineered (for example, that it is built not to invent material) describe its design goal, not a guarantee of results, and do not create any warranty. Output is provided as suggestions for your review, not as fact or professional advice. You are responsible for verifying every statement in any output against your own record before using or submitting it, and for correcting or discarding anything inaccurate; we are not responsible or liable for inaccurate content in output you choose to use or submit.

5. Purchases, subscriptions, and billing

Payments are processed by Stripe. The Season Pass is a one-time purchase for the current application season. The Monthly plan is a subscription that renews automatically each month until canceled; you can cancel at any time by emailing thekapuyas@gmail.com, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Prices may change, but a change will not affect a period you have already paid for. Access is tied to the session it was purchased for. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse, probe, or disrupt the service; attempt to bypass usage limits or payment gates; use the service to produce content for someone other than yourself for compensation; resell or redistribute access; scrape or harvest the service; or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms.

7. Privacy

Our collection and use of your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITY, OR ADMISSION OUTCOME, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; IN THAT CASE OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE SMALLEST AMOUNT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms, your content, or your submission of application materials to any institution or platform.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. Sections 3, 4, and 8–13 survive termination.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always at this page with its effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and contact
